Escaping the Trap of Efficiency: The Counterintuitive Antidote to the Time-Anxiety That Haunts and Hampers Our Search for Meaning – The Marginalian
what, from among the myriad doable things, you would choose not to do in order to fill the scant allotment of time, be it the 8,760 hours of a year or a single hour, with the experiences that confer upon it maximum aliveness, that radiant vitality filling the basic biological struggle for survival with something more numinous.
the empty atoms of automation and unexamined choice filling modern life with busyness while hollowing it of gladness.
“life-hack” and its unfortunate intimation that “your life is best thought of as some kind of faulty contraption, in need of modification so as to stop it from performing suboptimally,”

After the Collapse of Terra's UST, What's Next for Algorithmic Stablecoins? - Decrypt
"Honestly, I'm pretty skeptical that there's much of a future for algorithmic stablecoins," Justin Rice, VP of ecosystem for Stellar Development Foundation, told Decrypt.
"What we're seeing now, and not for the first time, is an optimistic balancing mechanism unraveling due to natural human responses to market conditions," he said.
Nik Kunkel, former head of backend services for Maker, which created the decentralized and overcollateralized DAI stablecoin, suggested that stablecoins don't fail because they're algorithmic—they fail because there's not enough backing them.

Is the Bottom In for Bitcoin? Market Sell Off Poised to Continue, Analysts Say - Decrypt
“Many crypto investors view the fact that they are not linked to the value of traditional assets, such as gold, shares in a company, or fiat currencies, as intrinsic to the cryptocurrency attraction and value proposition,” Read told Decrypt via email. “Some crypto bulls even looked to cryptocurrencies as an asset to hedge against inflation, but that clearly isn’t working—the reality is that the past few weeks at least have seen cryptocurrencies tracking broader market trends.”

Audiograph - Building the Building Blocks of Web3
So you have a lot of options tradings that you can, you know, that, that, that exist in like traditional finance. And they're kind of being poured over to crypto and doing it in a more decentralized, you know, oftentimes, but not always like trustless way. And so if you think about what is the most comparable, you know, off chain, like traditional entity or object that exists, that's most similar to a split. Like, to me, that's like an LLC almost right. It's like a very simple contract that says when this happens, you know, Nick gets this Abram gets that. And like, that's the end of the day. Like if, if Nick and I were to work on, you know, some project, like not on chain and we wanted to have some security in place, like we'd set up an LLC probably right now that LLC costs money to create it costs money to maintain, you have to pay, you know, you have to do all the accounting. Like there's just a lot of overhead that goes into creating and maintaining one of those things. And I think that to my mind right now, at least like a split is most similar to an LLC. And I think those are very, very dissimilar. And so if you think about people who are kind of creating what exists in the, in the real world and porting it on chain, this, this, like, it's not a one to one port, I guess, is what I'm trying to say. So I think, I think that's another piece of it. And then the other piece would be, you know, splits a really a pretty like integral part of on chain collaboration. That's kind of like this space that we are really excited about, you know, helping to kind of like further and expand is the idea of just people from all over the world, being able to come together and like trustless work together.

What Is Terra? The Algorithmic Stablecoin Protocol Explained - Decrypt
some advocates of decentralization argue that a centralized entity maintaining a basket of real-world assets introduces a single point of failure into the system.
That brings with it risks such as opacity over governance structures and whether the actual reserves held match up with what's claimed—in turn, creating a focus for regulatory attention.
Decentralized stablecoins try to avoid these governance issues by maintaining their pegs through algorithms instead of through vast reserves of cash and debt.

The Untethered Soul: The Roadmap of My Personal Growth - Part 4
Seeing everything as mere information is powerful because it depersonalizes life experiences. I gradually learned to stop taking everything personally, as if I was the center of the universe and everything negative that happened in the world was a direct affront to me. It’s not about me – it’s just data.
Let’s say something happens that activates the old fear. Your manager asks you to deliver a presentation at the upcoming all-hands meeting. The closer you get to that wall, the more you will have the urge to pull back. That’s what we do with walls – we avoid running into them. But because we avoid them, they lock us inside their perimeter. They become a prison. Since we are not willing to approach them, we cannot see what is beyond them.
