Monkeypox is a viral zoonosis, a virus infection transmitted to humans from animals, which can be transmitted human-to-human.

It is a poxvirus which can cause symptoms reminiscent of relatively mild smallpox, including a vesicular rash (Fig. 1) and systemic symptoms such as fever, rigors, headache, muscle ache and lymphadenopathy that are usually mild, but may be more severe in immunocompromised people.

In 1970, the first human case was reported, involving a young child in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).1,

Those were the words of Coach Mike Tomlin when the Steelers selected running back Najee Harris in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and those words held true all last season.

Harris proved to be a complete back, with his ability to contribute not just in the ground game, but in the passing game and as a blocker all season.

The Steelers signed rookie running back Najee Harris, the team's No.1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Harris, who played at the University of Alabama, finished his college career as the Crimson Tide's all-time leading rusher with 3,843 career yards. He also led the school in all-time touchdowns with 57, including a school-record 46 rushing touchdowns and another 11 receiving. Harris' 4,624 all-purpose yards rank second in school history.

Harris rushed for 100 plus yards 13 times in his career, including six both his junior and senior seasons. He won the Doak Walker Award, presented to the top running back in college football, in 2020 and was a unanimous first-team All-American (Associated Press, AFCA, FWAA, The Sporting News and Walter Camp).

LATROBE, Pa. – At least this time they didn't have to travel to a different Zip Code, but for the third straight practice, the Steelers had to board buses and go for a ride instead of leaving their locker room at Saint Vincent College, go down a set of steps, and then walk maybe an additional 100 yards to be ready for the day's work.

The Steelers signed running back Jeremy McNichols to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

McNichols spent the last two seasons with the Tennessee Titans (2020-21) and one season with the Indianapolis Colts (2018). He has played in 31 games during his career, carrying the ball 90 times for 364 yards and one touchdown. He also has 40 receptions for 295 yards and one touchdown.

McNichols entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Boise State. In college he carried the ball 571 times for 3,205 yards and 44 touchdowns. In 2016 he rushed for a career high 1,709 yards, with career highs in carries (314) and rushing touchdowns (23).

The Steelers signed kicker Chris Boswell to a new five-year contract.

Boswell has been a mainstay for the Steelers kicking game since he was signed as a free agent a month into the 2015 season.

In his seven seasons, Boswell has connected on 182 of 206 field goal attempts (88.3%), which ranks second in NFL history with at least 200 field goal attempts, and 231 of 245 extra point attempts (94.3%). In 104 games played he has accounted for 777 points. He has hit on at least one field goal of 50 or more yards in six of his seven seasons.

The Steelers signed Pro Bowl receiver Diontae Johnson to a new three-year contract on Thursday.

"I felt it in my gut it was the right move for me and my family," said Johnson. "I am just glad to get back to work. I love being a Steeler. I love it here. Just being around my teammates, the atmosphere, the energy they show every day. I feel like I made the right choice to continue to be here for a long time."

Johnson has played in 47 games in his three seasons, with 39 starts. He has 254 career receptions for 2,764 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also has 12 rushes for 109 yards. His 254 receptions (first), 2,764 yards (fourth) and 20 touchdowns (fourth) each rank in the top five among all receivers selected in the 2019 NFL Draft.
