Ubai was the best of us in the recitation (of the Qur'an) yet we leave some of what he recites.' Ubai says,

But Allah said "None of Our Revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten but We substitute something better or similar.

sent for the reciters of Basra.

three hundred in number

They recited the Qur’an and he said: You are the best among the inhabitants of Basra, for you are the reciters among them

Hour is coming

Allah will resurrect those in the graves.

He will judge between them

they who believed and did righteous deeds will be in the Gardens of Pleasure.

And they who disbelieved and denied Our signs - for those there will be a humiliating punishment.

"O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve

Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ

A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, "Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward)." He replied, "I do not find such a deed.

strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh upon them.

I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip.

then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush.
