Frontiers | Understanding Mental Health Through the Theory of Positive Disintegration: A Visual Aid
t level II an individual cannot consciously move toward level III because their view of the world is unilevel (i.e., they do no apprehend that their values could change significantly and that “what is” and “what should be” are not necessarily the same thing).
o explain how a person might be undergoing personality development, dynamisms (e.g., disquietude with oneself, subject-object in oneself) are used to explain the feelings of a person when they transit from one level to another (Dabrowski, 1964) (Figure 1).
1) genetic attributes, also called overexcitabilities (psychomotor, sensual, imaginational, intellectual, and emotional) (2) the environment (3) the inner motivation to develop one's personality (called the third factor)

Audre Lorde Taught Us: Christina Olivares on Audre Lorde's Legacy
we have all been programmed to respond to the human differences between us with fear and loathing and to handle that difference in one of three ways: ignore it, and if that is not possible, copy it if we think it is dominant, or destroy it if we think it is subordinate.” Nobody is let off the hook: the “we” and “us” Lorde refers to truly is a “we” and an “us.” Choosing to acknowledge and root out that within us that prevents us from connecting with ourselves and other people is terrifically difficult and necessary work. I
“Our future survival is predicated upon our ability to relate within equality.”
One beauty (primacy, urgency) in Lorde’s archives is her deep identification with her role as a teacher. Her classes in Berlin were recorded (and archived) for a documentary, but she also states in those recordings that she intends them to live past her, and at times she will address future listeners: in those moments, I perk up, headphones on, ready to catch the tether she’s throwing out into her blank and unknown future. I catch it, marvel. She’s staked her role as a teacher not simply for the people in front of her but for the people who will come after her. Perhaps this is ego. If so, we need more ego. I want my teachers to claim me this way: with hunger, with surety.

Wole Soyinka on the Deep Friendships of His Life | Open Country Mag
“Those who have experienced genuine friendship should appreciate how very lucky they are,” he said. “It’s almost a mystical thing.”
Friendship to me is what saves one’s sanity, friendship is seeking nothing, no advantage from the other person, but always knowing that it is there, that it’s assistance if you need it. And you simultaneously are ready any time. It’s almost a mystical thing. Those who have experienced genuine friendship should appreciate how very lucky they are, because it’s not often, to actually say this is a genuine friend. I have had some very deep friendships with people, like Femi Johnson, who you mentioned.

Why Ethiopia's Orthodox Synod Called Media, U.S. Sanctions On Tigray Conflict ‘Indirect Colonialism’
In the recent battle for the soul and survival of Ethiopia, it has to be admitted that the TPLF has overwhelmingly won a propaganda war. But much of its propaganda is characterised by dis- and misinformation and a misleading use of facts. International media and governments, wittingly or unwittingly, have fallen prey to such egregious abuses of truth. Abuna Mathias’ statement suggests that he too may have fallen prey to the TPLF and media dis- and misinformation.

Ethiopia’s Increasing Vulnerability to Islamic Extremism and What That Means for the Horn of Africa
Over the last two decades, the country has experienced some signs of progress, but those gains have been dwarfed by complex ideological, economic, administrative and ethnic challenges. In fact, the country was on the verge of civil war three years ago. Then hope burst forth in April 2018 with the installation of a new Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed, who initiated sweeping and staggering reforms. Still today, the country’s future as a nation-state is threatened by ethno-political and religious extremism, specifically Ethiopia’s vulnerability to Islamic extremism.
“leave the Abyssinians alone as long as they leave you alone.”
Erdogan, who is believed to follow the teachings of Muslim Brotherhood movement, continues to harbor deep antagonism towards Al-Sisi’s government and seeks to undermine it. So, for example, Turkey sides with Ethiopia when it comes to the dispute between Egypt and Ethiopia over the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). President Erdogan, in my view, overtly uses democracy in order to covertly promote his Islamist agenda, epitomized by his recent decision to turn the Hagia Sophia, formerly a cathedral and then a museum, into a mosque. So both Egypt’s antipathy toward Ethiopia and Turkey’s friendly relations with Ethiopia make this poor nation vulnerable to Islamic extremism.

The Grandchildren of Abraha – Professor Haggai Erlich | Research on Islam and Muslims in Africa
The latest declaration of Jihad on Ethiopia was pronounced by the Islamic militants of the Union of Islamic Courts who took over the government of Somalia in June 2006.
It was therefore embedded in Islamic consciousness and widely accepted as absolutely authentic. However, probably because of its extreme message, the saying has mainly been quoted by radicals. The concept, it can be argued, reflected a hidden fear of mysterious, black Africans, as well as of the Day of Judgment that the Ethiopians’ disastrous destructiveness would herald.
Though Ethiopia was invaded in the past by Sudanese, Egyptians, Somalis and others, and though the Christian empire conquered and harassed local Islamic communities, the December 2006 Ethiopian invasion is exceptional. It is the first time since the re-emergence of modern Islamic radicalism that Ethiopia provoked political Islam so openly by invading the capital of a modern Islamic state.
